Male Breast Reduction (Gynecomastia Surgery)
Breast development in men, a condition known as gynecomastia, is a common problem affecting many men at some point in their lives. Gynecomastia or breast tissue development in men can begin before puberty. Often it grows during puberty and gets worse. Gaining weight, genetics, hormones, and medications may be linked to this problem. Mild cases caused by excess fat (often called “pseudogynecomastia”) may resolve with just diet and exercise. However, in cases where there is excess glandular breast tissue present, only surgery can help.
Plastic surgery can fully restore a more masculine chest contour, eliminating the embarrassment and frustration that men with excess breast tissue often experience. We love helping men feel more comfortable in their bodies through gynecomastia treatment.
Dr. Bresnick, a board certified plastic surgeon, has extensive experience treating gynecomastia through male breast reduction. He uses a variety of techniques including liposuction and surgical excision to create a flatter, more defined chest appearance. This is one of our most popular procedures for men, and most patients can return to work within just a week of their procedure.
